AUSTIN – Today, the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) announced the appointment of Cindy WalkerPeach, Ph.D. as Chief Product Development Officer.
“Dr. WalkerPeach has extensive life science industry experience nationally and in Texas, bringing firsthand knowledge of translating promising research from the lab through clinical trials,” said CPRIT CEO Wayne Roberts. “Her familiarity with Texas’ needs and opportunities will have an immediate beneficial effect on the state’s cancer product development landscape.”
Cindy R. WalkerPeach, Ph.D. has extensive technical depth in oncology, infectious diseases and inherited disease molecular diagnostics, and has led numerous successful clinical product development teams. She most recently served as Innovation-Corps (I-Corps) Program Director at the National Science Foundation (NSF) in Alexandria, Virginia, where her program critically evaluated and funded early-stage research outcomes for translatability and commercial potential for societal and economic benefits. Prior to NSF, she served as Head of Health and Biosciences at the Austin Technology Incubator (The University of Texas at Austin), supporting life science startup company development. Her previous industry roles include Director of Corporate Business Development for Asuragen, Inc. and Director of Diagnostic Product Development and cGMP Operations at Ambion, Inc. Dr. WalkerPeach holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Molecular Biology) and a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry).
