Annette Leslie - Carry Me

Annette Leslie and FamilyAnnette Leslie is the mother of Craig and Carson Leslie.  Carson passed away on January 12, 2010 at the age of 17 from medulloblastoma, brain and spine cancer.  A promise to Carson catapulted Annette into the fight against pediatric cancer.  As Annette said in Carson's book, Carry Me, "It's too late for my cocky, feisty, funny, competitive and absolutely courageous boy...but it's not too late for the next kid."

Annette is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute's Advisory Committee on Childhood Cancers.  With her promise to Carson to carry on in the fight against pediatric cancer, she is making a difference by giving speeches, boldly making calls to legislators at both the state and federal level and getting Carson's book, Carry Me, into as many hearts as possible.

She serves as Co-Chairman of The Carson Leslie Foundation, a pediatric cancer organization which raises funds for pediatric cancer research and encouragement to teens stricken with disease.  She served as past chairman of a local pediatric cancer organization's annual golf tournament auction exceeding its fundraising goal, fiercely and publically speaks every chance she has of her son's valiant and courageous battle with cancer and is a talented photographer.

Annette has a background in teaching, sales, and event coordination.  She is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University with a BS in Journalism and Speech Communication with a teaching certificate.

Annette Resides in Dallas with her loving husband, Craig, and frequently visits her oldest son, Craig, Carson's champion brother who is a student at the University of Texas at Austin.

Annette joined CPRIT at its June 18th, 2010 Oversight Committee meeting where she gave a speech about her son and the need for more pediatric cancer research.
